Thank you so much to Operation Community Hamper, for funding SEN holiday sessions for a family who were very isolated. By providing these sessions the family were able to lessen isolation, find peer support and friendships that impacted positively on both mum and child.

We work with young people that find it hard to take gifts of kindness but we have seen very grateful families gratefully receiving the gifts we brought them. One mum was in tears as she didn't get paid until after Christmas and said "this has saved her Christmas". I look forward to doing it all again next year with you.

Building on last year’s successful 12-hour swimathon, we decided to push ourselves further by hosting an ambitious 16-hour event. Thanks to incredible community support, every hour was filled with swimmers of all ages, creating a fantastic atmosphere of energy and determination throughout the day. Christmas remains OCH’s flagship event and the heart of our annual efforts to support local families. This year, we were incredibly grateful to UWE for opening their doors to us, enabling us to scale our impact and reach 1,300 families across the region. Over four intensive days, a dedicated team of volunteers came together to create 1,300 hampers and 1,100 gift bags for vulnerable families. A 12 hour sponsored dart event which raised over £2,500. A large group of people got together and collectively the many dart boards were played on by many people followed by a disco and a raffle. This was a great way of the community coming together to raise valuable funds.

We proudly hosted two vibrant drag nights—one in October 2025 and another in March 2026—which together raised over £3,000 in support of our work. OCH were incredibly fortunate to team up with Age UK South Gloucestershire, who generously opened the door for us to take part in their unforgettable fire walk. On a cold October Saturday, a brave team of 15 stepped forward and quite literally walked over hot coals in the name of something bigger than themselves. OCH's first summer afternoon tea was held at Keynsham Rugby Club in June. Prosecco, generously donated by Future Publishing Bath, was served to our 93 guests on arrival, followed by a delicious traditional afternoon tea presented on vintage china supplied by Lillies Vintage China Hire. The tea was served by our junior OCH volunteers who did a wonderful job and were presented with trophies at the end. There were games, a raffle and a quiz, and a fabulous time was had by all! H

Feeding Bristol provided us with a Household Support Fund to support residents who live within Bristol. This charitable donation allowed us to provide nutritious fruit and veg boxes supplied by Banana Boat Bristol in Totterdown, half term lunches for Bristol City Robins Foundation and Bristol Rovers Community Trust activity days, fruit for schools, air fryers for a school to help with cookery classes, food and snacks for a day trip for the elderly, and Elim Housing.

In March/April 2025, we collected over 2,300 Easter eggs which were distributed to local children and families including: New Horizions School Kingswood, South Bristol Health Visitors, Ilminster Ave Nursery Knowle West, St Michael’s School Twerton, Fair Furlong School Withywood, Yatton School, Mary Elton School Clevedon, Pegasus School Patchway, North Star 180 Bath, Longvernal School Midsomer Norton, Broomhill School Bristol, Southwick School Trowbridge, Oldfield School Bath,

77 swimmers ranging from 9 months to 70 joined us in the swimming pool at Keynsham Leisure Centre for a 12 hour Swimathon. A whopping £8,949.80 was raised by our swim team. Thanks to the brilliant team at Keynsham Leisure Centre and Eveleighs Estate Agents for their kind sponsorship of delicious food supplied by The Bristol Catering Company.

The 2024 Appeal produced 1010 Christmas Hampers full of luxury food and drink items and 900 Gift Bags full of bespoke Christmas presents. Huge thanks to Bristol Rovers for hosting our Hamper Weekend and to all the other incredible businesses who donated items and their time including: Barber's, Burts Snacks, Bidfood, and Hobbs House Bakery. Thanks also to Fireaway Pizza and LJ Hugs for feeding our volunteers.

Thanks to First Bus we took our first Christmas Fundraising Carol Bus on the road - travelling to Bath, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset, raising money, collecting food donations and spreading Christmas cheer.

OCH hosted its first business event, a cheese & wine night with local businesses where we shared our story and our goals for Christmas 2024. It was a fantastic evening at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club where the business community came together and surrounded OCH with pledges of support. Huge thanks to Bidfood for the generous donation of cheese.
