Laura, Team leader, Elim Housing
My name is Laura and I am the team leader of a young parents supporting homelessness service based in Bristol. Operation Community Hamper have been supporting our young families for at least the last two years. Charlotte is like an angel in disguise, her empathy towards others with no judgements is incomparable. Operation Community Hamper has provided lots of our families with furniture to help them move into independent accommodation, if it wasn’t for this generosity many of them would be sleeping on floors. Charlotte’s team delivers the furniture all over Bath and Bristol and all done with a smile on their face. The garden or as it is now known Charlotte’s yard has been given a makeover, resident cleaned and Operation Community Hamper provided new play equipment which has been a massive hit by the children and their parents. Christmas was just amazing Operation Community Hamper supplied, the residents with luxury hampers and gifts, some of these young families would not have received anything if it wasn’t for this amazing charity. The charity also supports other projects including providing gifts and hampers to 55 bed projects. Prior to learning about Operation Community Hamper, I would support good causes however the thing I absolutely love about this charity is you can see the difference it is making to the local community; it is tangible! Charlotte has an amazing team that works alongside her and all those people deserve to be recognized for the love and kindness they show strangers.

Hi Charlotte Our parents were sooo happy with their boxes. They really appreciated the effort and the thought behind being chosen. Mostly our feedback came from when they were collected, though we had a nice call from a grandmother/carer once she had got home: Hello, Mrs B, Gran of T has just called to pass on a massive thankyou for their christmas hamper. She said it has made their Christmas very special. But our favourite feedback has got to be this one: Hi I was going to phone to say this but I can barely breath as im crying HAPPY cry! I cannot express enough how grateful, Thankful I am towards you all for these amazing gifts! And a special thankyou for Mrs J (I think that is who H said that arranged the hamper) thankyou so so so much I cannot tell you guys how much this has helped us. Im finding this very hard to process as it is so incredibly generous and kind and im feeling very emotional HAPPY emotional. Thankyou thankyou thankyou so so much! I hope you all have such a wonderful Christmas 🎄

We were incredibly grateful for the hampers and the thoughtful gifts. The items given for the families and especially everything for the children was really amazing. We were overwhelmed by the generosity and the amount that you provided. It was even more than we expected, and it truly brought extra joy to every family. The generosity and time put in by everyone at Operation Community Hamper and all the incredible volunteers is deeply appreciated, particularly during the Christmas period when it means so much, thank you!

Thanks so much for your help today... this Young family have just been put in a studio flat temporarily and will move tonight. They need all their own bedding, duvets and pillows so your voucher will be spent on that en route to the property. Mum just said "I'm going to be grinning like a Cheshire cat" (once she gets to her own space and has her own bed to get into) ... a far cry from last night when she expressed a sense of wanting to 'do something stupid and felt like no one was listening to her.

Hi Charlotte, I hope you are well 😊 Just wanted to drop an email to say a huge thank you for the donation of Easter Eggs. We massively appreciated it – especially as it was quite short notice for you. All of the children really loved the eggs and the parents were really grateful. We had lots of excitement when we handed them out at our Easter event at Spring House! Thanks again for all of your amazing work.

We are thrilled to share the amazing hampers and present bags that we have received from Operation Community Hampers for some of our families. Our amazing staff member Nicky Powell and her fabulous family volunteer for the charity to raise money all year round to be able to produce these phenomenal Christmas gifts for the community. They were recently featured on local news and praised for their efforts, and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication. We are so excited that some of our families have received these gifts and that they will help to give them an amazing Christmas this year! The hampers are personalised to each family – even their pets are included! When one of our children told us that they didn’t think Santa was coming to their house this year, Operation Community Hamper has made sure Santa did arrive after all! Jean, our cleaner, commented: “I take my hat off to this charity – they must work so hard to give this to them babbies. They’re brilliant!” Thank you to Nicky and everyone at Operation Community Hampers for making Christmas magical for our families.

I received a Christmas Hamper which was a nice surprise. It was also much appreciated because I had a tough year and it put a smile on my face also my son enjoyed baking the brownies even if they were alittle skinny (my fault the baking dish was to big) I really liked the blanket it matched my colours in my living room I use it all the time and the chocolates didn't last long either it made Christmas that little bit easier. My son decorated our tree with the tinsel and bow from the hamper.

This one has left me in tears - read down - OCH has been renamed “secret Santa” by one child 🥲😀 Hi Charlotte and Team, On delivering the hampers and gifts to our families before Christmas, it was clear to see how overwhelmed they were, with a few tears along the way. After Christmas the notes /conversations of appreciation began to arrive. I will try to give you little snippets from some of them. "It was a lovely surprise and such a thoughtful gesture. The treats and gifts given to all of our family were amazing. The children were so excited. You really helped make a difference for us at Christmas time. We really want to express our profound gratitude by thanking you profusely. God bless you all." "Thankyou doesn't seem enough, I was truly overwhelmed by the kindness of others to us. The hamper was filled with such delicious things and the toiletries were so appreciated. I wanted to make my daughters Christmas a good one but the fact that you included gifts for me meant that we made special memories opening gifts together. It was such a greatness of heart to think of the parent s too! You truly made our Christmas brighter. It might make you smile to know that my daughter has now been calling you "SECRET SANTA." What an amazing charity you are!" "I wanted to reach out to say a huge thankyou for the wonderful Christmas hamper and gifts we received. The gifts were perfect and exactly what we all wished for." "Thankyou Operation Community Hamper for the fabulous hamper and gifts we received this Christmas. The display of treats had the children so excited. This meant that they were able to have treats we would not have been able to buy for them. The thought that had clearly gone into the gifts, meant that we all received gifts that suited us all, plus a family inflatable reindeer game which we had so much fun with. A few moths ago I was dreading Christmas but it was the best Christmas ever." Thanks once again on behalf of Staple Hill Primary .

A pensioner came to see me yesterday and I had told her there was a hamper waiting for her she said “I’m really sorry but I can’t have the hamper …. I’ve got £1.80 to last me until the end of the month.” I said no this is yours & you pay nothing - she burst out crying - she couldnt believe it😥

Just wanted to say a huge thankyou to you and your amazing team. The hampers and Christmas presents given to our families were incredible. They brought joy, excitement, gratitude and lots of happy tears . For many though, it was an overwhelming sense of relief from the 'Christmas pressure' that many struggling families experience. One little girl said her favourite thing from the hamper was the cuddly blanket. It was a real privilege to be able to deliver the hampers and see first hand what they meant to our families. Wishing you a very happy Christmas Kindest regards Sue

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your kind help and the kind people that have donated and helped with families hampers and presents, we were blown away. My nan was blown away and made up. The boys woke up Xmas day to bags of presents under the tree the joy was overwhelming. Also a huge thank you to yourselfs and the amazing people that donated to our new home. After being in a hotel for over 8 weeks the constant worry and stress of going into our home with nothing was mentally exhausting and you guys made sure we had a furnished home to go into. We will forever be in your debt and will never forget your kindness and the kindness of the people that support you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you xx

Operation Community Hamper is an exceptional charity, and through my professional role I have seen firsthand the meaningful and lasting impact they have on families experiencing hardship. The support they provide is both practical and deeply compassionate, making a significant difference to the wellbeing of children and parents alike. While their beautiful Christmas hampers are well known, this is just one small part of the year‑round support Charlotte and her dedicated team offer. They work tirelessly to create joyful experiences and special memories for families—opportunities that many would otherwise never have access to—helping them feel valued, supported, and hopeful during challenging times. The commitment, passion, and selflessness shown by the entire team is truly inspiring. They volunteer countless hours throughout the year to raise vital funds and ensure this invaluable support can continue. Operation Community Hamper is a remarkable organisation, and their work makes a genuine difference in the lives of so many families.

Thank you so much to everyone involved in providing the Christmas hampers for our vulnerable families this year. The hampers were absolutely huge and beautifully presented. The bags and boxes with Operation Christmas Hamper printed on them this year were incredibly special and we could instantly see the care and pride that had gone into them. We were able to distribute the hampers just before we broke up for Christmas, and the impact on our families was truly moving. Many were overwhelmed with gratitude (some were in tears) as the hampers provided not just food and gifts, but real comfort, dignity, and reassurance at a very difficult time. All the parents said how much this meant to them. Comments included: “Thank you so much, it's taken so much pressure off me and means my children will actually have a proper Christmas.” “I can’t believe how much there is - it's fantastic, THANK YOU FROM US ALL." “Wow! Thank you for supporting us, it means so much." “I’ve never received anything like this before. I was worried about Christmas for my kids this year before this. Thank you so much for caring about us." For many of our families, the generosity of the donations and the work put into this genuinely changed what Christmas looked and felt like in their home. What you provided went far beyond the practical - it brought hope, relief, and a sense of being valued. On behalf of our school and the families we support, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and the clear thought that went into every hamper. You have made a lasting difference, and we are incredibly grateful.

What can I say, your hampers were amazing and everyone who I delivered to were overwhelmed, that within the hamper there was something for everyone, everyone had their needs met in all the items. It is not just at Christmas you give but throughout the year, you and your team are amazing. I must say everyone loved their blanket and as soon as the hamper was delivered it was out and being snuggled up to, each time I go to visit families will comment how soft and comforting this is, it means so much that this give comfort at times of joy and times of upset. Words are not enough to say how Thankful I am for your organisation and how you all support the community around you. Thank you Sophie
Aimee, Family Support Practitioner
To say that I was overwhelmed when the bags and boxes arrived at our school is an understatement. I had heard from others about how amazing you all are at Operation Community Hamper, but I couldn't prepare myself for what arrived. You have made such a difference to how some of our families would have spent Christmas and I don't think there are enough words to say how grateful I felt to even be able to deliver them. A huge thank you from all of us at Warmley Park for all that you do and all the kindness, thoughtfulness and love that must go into every single step of this huge operation. Real life angels ♥️

“The support you have provided for the family that was in need is beyond words, they are so appreciative of the help received and what a difference it has made, alleviating a lot of stress at this time!”

Mum has said this has been a life saver for her, she will be able to get school shoes and trousers, and even any extra food (as this is another area mum regularly needs support with)! This will mean the child you have helped can feel ready for school and it takes off another worry and pressure for the family at what already is a big deal starting at his new school after not being in school for a year. Thank you for helping so quickly.
