TESTIMONIALS

Mum in South Bristol

I cannot thank Charlotte and Operation Community Hamper enough for the difference they have made, not only in my life but in the lives of so many people in our community. I have seen first-hand the kindness, generosity and dedication that Charlotte shows to others. She has helped me and my family in so many ways, including providing a beautiful Christmas food hamper and gifts that made Christmas feel truly special. She has also supported the supported housing where I live by providing play equipment, bringing joy to children and families who use it. What stands out most is that Charlotte never stops looking for ways to help people. They provide furniture to those in need and offer practical support to people during difficult times. When life has been challenging, knowing that there are people like Charlotte who genuinely care has meant more than words can say. Last year, I had the privilege of helping with the Christmas hampers, and it was an experience I will never forget. Seeing everything come together was like stepping into Santa’s Grotto. The room was filled with gifts, food, and festive cheer, but most of all it was filled with kindness and love. It truly felt magical. Watching the amount of care and effort that goes into making Christmas special for so many families gave me an even greater appreciation for the incredible work Charlotte and her team do. Operation Community Hamper is about so much more than the items given out. It is about kindness, dignity, hope and making people feel seen and supported when they need it most. Charlotte’s compassion has touched countless lives, and I am incredibly grateful for everything she does. Our community is a better place because of her.

I just wanted to say an absolutely huge and very heartfelt thankyou to the wonderful and generous people who donated to help the children from our primary school to be able to go on their end of year six camp. These children have been through so much in their short lives and have had to grow up too quickly having experienced traumas most adults would struggle to deal with. I can’t wait to see their faces when they’re told they can go! To have that carefree and full of fun week with no upsets or expectations or worries that they can have with their friends will be a memory they can take with them forever. The parents are absolutely over the moon and wanted me to pass on their thanks. I’d spent several days on and off scouring the internet for funding to help these children, I was near to giving up when I thought ‘I wonder if Charlotte knows of any charities that could help?’ Not thinking for one moment that she would know beautiful kind hearted people that did! I cried when she first updated me on the amount raised. It was so quick! I couldn’t quite believe it. Before I knew it the whole amount was payed and I felt a huge weight off my shoulders knowing they wouldn’t be missing out. Also, a renewed faith in people’s kindnesses. In my job I see allot of hardships and hurts. It’s easy to forget that there is so much goodness out there too. Whether you gave a penny or a £100 we are so grateful for your kindness. Thankyou. Sarah

Local school in Bristol

Good morning Charlotte, I am totally overwhelmed with the gorgeous hampers we had delivered to school, I can honestly say that the quality of the hampers were the best we have ever had gifted to us. The hampers will be delivered to some of our most vulnerable students and they will be well received by the families. Kind regards Debbie

Hi Charlotte, The young people were absolutely over the moon with the hampers this year, especially the branded items such as Nike socks, jumpers, and similar gifts. As you are aware, many of the young people we support do not have family members who are able to give them gifts. While we do everything we can to support them over the Christmas period, as a charity — and with so many care leavers — there are limits to what we can provide. OCH gives them a real opportunity to feel cared for and supported, and the hampers also help them during times of financial difficulty. Alabare and the young people cannot thank you enough for the kindness and generosity shown in putting these hampers together. They truly were — and always are — such thoughtful gifts. Best wishes, 👏🏼😀

Hi Cleo, Thank you so much for the vouchers, I delivered 2 last night and the rest today. Last night when I dropped one of the vouchers off, Mum stood at her door and cried. She didn't know how she was going to manage the holidays and was completely overwhelmed with the support. She asked me to pass on her sincerest of thanks and to let you know she will now be able to take the children to the park for a picnic in the holidays for a treat. I thought this was lovely, so wanted to pass it on. Thank you everyone for the support you give us to make this possible. 💙

Oh Charlotte, thankyou so much, this has made me cry. Either day is fine by me. I have an oncolgy appointment on the 12th, apart from that I am here, alone. This has been such a sad year for me, I have lost at least 20 dear friends and my 17 year old little dog. Clinging on by my fingertips, please take care all of you Santa's Little Helpers, your cause is a lifeline to myself and countless others but please pace yourselves. I just wish that I could offer more help xx

Teacher at Blackminster school, Evesham

School are still absolutely raving about the hampers, how fantastic they were. One parent cried on the doorstep & couldn’t believe that it was all for them. One of boys told his teacher that he had the best nights sleep in a long time, because he had a blanket in a hamper that was delivered to his Mum yesterday. He was snug all night 🥲 & can’t wait to go to bed tonight. Thank you so much for introducing us to OCH, it’s made 4 families extremely happy. Thank you ! Thank you so much !!

Hi Charlotte, Thank you again for all your help and support for all the families xx I would like to thank OCH, Charlotte, Cleo, Ian nd all the team for the continued support they have provided for families that are facing hardship. OCH has supported a family who had fled domestic abuse to make their new property a home, by providing a sofa to sit on, a bed for mum, new bedding, blankets, throws and a lovely new rug to go on a bare floor. The family felt valued and cared for by the support they received to help build their lives and home following trauma they experienced. Thank you so much on behalf of the family. Thank you so much to OCH, for funding SEN holiday sessions for a family who were very isolated. By providing these sessions the family were able to lessen isolation, find peer support and friendships that impacted positively on both mum and her child. Thank you to OCH who have provided 3 families in need to access funding and support to pay for much needed energy payments. Without the support of Charlotte and her team these families would have gone without food to be able to have electricity and gas, and to keep warm. Thanks to the generosity of OCH many families were able to have an Easter egg for each member of the family. Without this support the families would have struggled to afford this and would have gone without. Thank you for all you do. Thank you so much Charlotte and team xxx

Lily, SW in the alternative care team

I just wanted to send a massive thank you for the hamper that I was able to deliver to a family I support! They were absolutely delighted with both the food hamper and gifts, Mum said she felt as though it had been made for her, it was so perfect in terms of the content and she was very pleased with it all, and said she felt so lucky to receive this, for the children but also for herself. The children also loved the gifts and the items in the food hamper, Mum had to put some away, so they didn’t go through everything at once! Thank you so much again, this really makes such a difference, and it was lovely being able to be the one to drop this off, although I didn’t take the credit! 😊 All the best, Lily

Julie, DSL, Evergreen Primary school

Good morning We wanted to share how the Christmas hampers initiative has positively impacted our vulnerable families this year. Many families expressed that the hampers provided not only essential food items but also brought a sense of relief and joy during what can be a very challenging time. For some, the support helped ease financial pressures and ensured children could enjoy festive treats and presents. Beyond the practical help, families felt cared for and connected to the school community, which is invaluable for their wellbeing. Our families are always appreciative of any help given to them by the school and outside agencies, especially with the current high rise in cost of living. Our school is in one of the most deprived areas of Bristol and experiences problems associated with living in disadvantaged areas which can have long term negative influences on children’s development and mental health of both children and parents. As a school, we regularly support our community with basic needs (food parcels, clothing, housing, grant funding for household items etc.,). Many of our parents/families are in receipt of Housing or Universal Credit benefits to support their households. Many of our families are living in temporary accommodation provided by the local authority (with a minority through private renting).  Your support with the hampers and presents at Christmas was invaluable to them. One parent commented, upon return to school in January 2026, that the hamper was exceptionally good and she was impressed with all the presents given to herself and the children, including the older members of her family. Thank you so much for your support, encompassing our Heart Values, which underpin the work we do here at Evergreen and within our Cabot Learning Federation.

Laura, Team leader, Elim Housing

My name is Laura and I am the team leader of a young parents supporting homelessness service based in Bristol. Operation Community Hamper have been supporting our young families for at least the last two years. Charlotte is like an angel in disguise, her empathy towards others with no judgements is incomparable. Operation Community Hamper has provided lots of our families with furniture to help them move into independent accommodation, if it wasn’t for this generosity many of them would be sleeping on floors. Charlotte’s team delivers the furniture all over Bath and Bristol and all done with a smile on their face. The garden or as it is now known Charlotte’s yard has been given a makeover, resident cleaned and Operation Community Hamper provided new play equipment which has been a massive hit by the children and their parents. Christmas was just amazing Operation Community Hamper supplied, the residents with luxury hampers and gifts, some of these young families would not have received anything if it wasn’t for this amazing charity. The charity also supports other projects including providing gifts and hampers to 55 bed projects. Prior to learning about Operation Community Hamper, I would support good causes however the thing I absolutely love about this charity is you can see the difference it is making to the local community; it is tangible! Charlotte has an amazing team that works alongside her and all those people deserve to be recognized for the love and kindness they show strangers.

Hi Charlotte Our parents were sooo happy with their boxes. They really appreciated the effort and the thought behind being chosen. Mostly our feedback came from when they were collected, though we had a nice call from a grandmother/carer once she had got home: Hello, Mrs B, Gran of T has just called to pass on a massive thankyou for their christmas hamper. She said it has made their Christmas very special. But our favourite feedback has got to be this one: Hi I was going to phone to say this but I can barely breath as im crying HAPPY cry! I cannot express enough how grateful, Thankful I am towards you all for these amazing gifts! And a special thankyou for Mrs J (I think that is who H said that arranged the hamper) thankyou so so so much I cannot tell you guys how much this has helped us. Im finding this very hard to process as it is so incredibly generous and kind and im feeling very emotional HAPPY emotional. Thankyou thankyou thankyou so so much! I hope you all have such a wonderful Christmas 🎄
