I just wanted to say an absolutely huge and very heartfelt thankyou to the wonderful and generous people who donated to help the children from our primary school to be able to go on their end of year six camp.
These children have been through so much in their short lives and have had to grow up too quickly having experienced traumas most adults would struggle to deal with. I can’t wait to see their faces when they’re told they can go! To have that carefree and full of fun week with no upsets or expectations or worries that they can have with their friends will be a memory they can take with them forever. The parents are absolutely over the moon and wanted me to pass on their thanks.
I’d spent several days on and off scouring the internet for funding to help these children, I was near to giving up when I thought ‘I wonder if Charlotte knows of any charities that could help?’ Not thinking for one moment that she would know beautiful kind hearted people that did! I cried when she first updated me on the amount raised. It was so quick! I couldn’t quite believe it. Before I knew it the whole amount was payed and I felt a huge weight off my shoulders knowing they wouldn’t be missing out. Also, a renewed faith in people’s kindnesses. In my job I see allot of hardships and hurts. It’s easy to forget that there is so much goodness out there too. Whether you gave a penny or a £100 we are so grateful for your kindness.
Thankyou. Sarah
