Prom Dress Service

Operation Community Hamper (OCH) is a charity that supports families throughout the year. While we originally focused on providing help at Christmas, we have increasingly recognised that many families need support beyond the festive season, which has led us to expand our work into schools and wider community support. Last year, a request from a family struggling with the cost of prom highlighted this growing need, and since then we have been working with schools to support Year 11 students from low-income and vulnerable families. We have recently visited Bridge Learning Campus in Hartcliffe and Oldfield School in Bath, offering students the opportunity to choose prom dresses and suits completely free of charge, with alterations and dry cleaning also covered. We would love to extend this support to more schools, ensuring every young person can feel confident and included on such an important occasion, while also asking for help in raising awareness of our charity so we can continue to grow and reach more families in need.
